Sitting Firm is a traditional chair and furniture maker based in the Midlands. As a maker of fine furniture the name Sitting Firm is synonymous the world over with quality, design and service.

As a family business our own personal reputation is associated with our furniture – so we want to do the best possible job, delivering high quality furniture of exceptional value. 

Making Furniture in the UK  
Sitting Firm is proud to still be making our collection of solid, hand crafted furniture in the UK, when many other furniture makers have started sourcing from abroad.

All items are made in the workshops adjacent to our showroom in Coventry and by prior arrangement customers can visit the workshops to see Sitting Firm furniture being made.

Ordering from Sitting Firm
To place an order for any of the furniture on this site you can use the wishlist facility or place an order here. Selected items are available to buy online.

We require full payment for all orders of £499 or less and a 30% deposit on all orders over £500.

Delivery
As all Sitting Firm products are made to order we will quote a delivery date when you order. Our normal lead time is 4-6 weeks.

Delivery is free on all orders over £750.  On orders below this value we have 4 delivery zones based on your distance from our showroom and workshops in Coventry and delivery is between £20 and £50.  The delivery cost is calculated when you add items to your shopping basket.

Every care is taken of your furniture from the moment we take your order, to the way we select the timber right through to delivery. In line with our philosophy of quality and service all our furniture is delivered from our finishing workshops to it’s new home by our experienced two-man delivery team. All furniture is blanket wrapped to ensure it reaches you in pristine condition.

Furniture Care 
To maintain and enhance the natural look of our furniture we recommend wiping over with a chamois leather (or similar) dampened in tepid water. If a surface becomes greasy, a small amount of mild detergent may be added to the water. After cleaning, simply wipe dry with a soft absorbent cloth.

We advise against the use of wax polishes, either solid, liquid or spray. These tend to build up a film on the surface and attract dirt, causing a grubby look. They may also increase the sheen of the lacquer and continued use over time may destroy the lacquer film.

Protection is required from hot plates and dishes.  Any spills should be wiped up with a damp cloth as mentioned above.

We believe we make quality furniture and are confident in our products and service.  In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with the performance of a piece of furniture you have bought from Sitting Firm you can return it to be repaired or replaced.
